We begin with a site assessment in order to advise our client which product will be most effective for their objectives, and meets the requirements of the specified project. From project inception through to the conclusion of product applications, Soil & Dust Solutions provides all services and consultations required. Due to the high performance level of our dust control products, no permanent site establishment is required, which when compared to any other product on the market, provides for significantly reduced costs due to reduced maintenance and water costs.

Applications completed in accordance with our recommended specification rates and method will continuously perform for 12-18 months.  Some applications such as tailings and stockpiles which have no traffic are effective for 24 or more months.  Only after this time is a maintenance application required. This is typically only 30% of the original amount, and is easily applied with a water truck.

The Application Process

The recommended product is applied using a pump and spray system, or a water truck depending upon the circumstances of the specific project.  Should specially designed equipment be required, Soil & Dust Solutions will work with the client to design, develop and manufacture the equipment required.

Product Performance

The Dust Suppression products supplied by Soil & Dust Solutions are:

  • Applied annually, not on a regular basis
  • Meet the strictest enviromental standards
  • Result in significant water usage
  • PM10 and PM2.5 compliant and suppress dust particles up to 2.5 microns in size
  • Do not leach into soil or water table
  • Not slippery when wet
  • Will not wash away with rain
  • Not by-products or bitumen based

 Our Dust Control Products are Not Petroleum Residues or Heavy Hydrocarbon Residues or Bitumen based

As these petroleum waste by-products which are being sold in the market under the false guise of bitumen have several primary ingredients that are known carcinogens, are hazardous, and do not meet the level of performance which we deliver.

In addition the use of these products  increase dramactically the environmental footprint of the user, as well as add to the future liabilities associated with closure costs. 

These products also require repeated and frequent applications.   Require dedicated equipment and vehicles as the product adheres to any surface, including vehicles, tyres, etc.,  While our products are clear and transparent and will not stick to vehicles. Fire Fighting equipment is required as the products are flammable.

These products are extremely slippery when wet and therefore can lead to accidents and diminished saftey standards.

Not a Lignosulphonate

Lingosulfites are waste by products of the paper pulping industry. Although proponents of these products will claim that they are environmentally friendly, they have no quantifiable data or independent laboratory environmental or aquatic toxicity reports to back up these claims. Lingosulphonate material will leach into the soil and water tables. It will wash away with rain and requires frequent re-applications. The product is slippery when wet and poses cause for safety concerns.  The product has no stabilization qualities and will not improve an existing wearing course.

Environment

As an example of BAT (Best Available Technology) combined with insituting a change from business as usual, significantly decreased water usage, and implementation of an effective and efficient dust control program utilizing environmentally safe products, a significant reduction in carbon emissions will result.  This will provide a decrease in environmental impact and footprint of any project.
