Dust Control Treatment on Decline

A major Decline required extensive treatment for dust control. As the only access point for vehicles it was trafficking dust in and out of the shaft causing challenges for both vehicles and workers. The shaft had to be cleaned and nearly 400 mm of powdery dust removed from the surface and walls, the area was then rinsed and treated with the Synthetic Dust Suppressant (SDS). The product used by Soil & Dust Solutions was SDS, a permanent wetting agent which literally wets through the powdery dust and continuously wicks into the soil to suppress dust. The safety attributes of SDS, being ordourless and non-flammable, make it ideal for underground treatments. Application was done manually with a pump and spray set up on the back of a truck, as height restrictions prevailed in underground areas.
