Soil & Dust Solutions Dust Control Application to Topsoil Stockpile

Performance Report of October 2006 – 2012 – 2016

Safety, Health and Environment

The KM project offices are located approximately 400 m west of the stockpile area, due to the fall and
angle you cannot see the large amounts of dust emissions that affect the majority of the offices,
computers, and vehicles. The resulting poor visibility causes safety and health concerns, limiting the
quality of life in the workplace. In addition there is an increased maintenance demand.

Since the EBS application on the stock pile, the effect on our offices related to the dust emissions
from that area have been significantly reduced, thereby eliminating the safety risks due to no visibility,
there is no more dust in the offices of the staff and in the computer's and kitchen area, and in general
there's an overall improvement in the quality of the workplace environment.

Summary

The utilization of the Engineered Base Stabilizer (EBS) product applied topically for the stabilization
and dust control of topsoil stockpiles has been shown to meet with, and indeed exceed the claims of
Soil and Dust Solutions. The product was applied in October 2006 and as of September 2012 is still
intact and upon visual inspection has shown no loss of material and flourishing vegetation.

The EBS product supplied and applied by Soil and Dust Solutions, had a performance guarantee of 12-
24 months and has shown that its performance meets or exceeds the suppliers claims, it is non-toxic, it
prevents loss of material due to wind and water erosion, it allows flora to stabilise and grow, retains
ground moisture, improves germination and it does not markedly alter the appearance of the stockpile
and it is safe and easy to apply. To date the product has performed successfully and seems to continue
to do so after 6 years.
